In recent decades, neuroscience has been one of the most exciting fields. Initiatives such as the "Decade of the Brain" in the 1990s, the "Brain Research Through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies (BRAIN) Initiative" in the United States, the "Human Brain Project" in Europe, the "Brain Mapping by Integrated Neurotechnologies for Disease Studies (Brain/MINDS)" in Japan, and China's "Brain Science and Brain-Inspired Intelligence" have elevated the profile of neuroscience research on a global scale. Despite the rapid progress in neuroscience research and new technologies, the development of new treatments for neurological and psychiatric disorders is relatively slow. This is partially due to the complexity of the brain which cannot be easily modeled by drug screening systems in vitro. The forthcoming conference aims to explore new ideas and technologies, and promote translational research and collaboration among China and oversea peers. Topics for discussion include pain, addiction, neurodegenerative diseases of the motor system, epilepsy, autism, depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and others. Discussions will focus on neuromodulation and range from the molecular mechanisms of diseases to synaptic transmission, neural circuits, and new technologies and disease treatment strategies.
