We welcome you back to the annual conference sponsored jointly by the University of Chicago, PUMCH, and Journal Hepatobiliary Surgery and Nutrition (HBSN). This is the 9th conference and dates to the 1st year the University of Chicago Center in Beijing was established. The only interruption in the conference schedule was mandated by the COVID pandemic.
This year’s conference focused on the significant advances for the treatment of hepatobiliary pancreatic diseases that occurred despite the limitations brought on by COVID.
Science and Medicine makes progress even in the most extreme circumstances. We will highlight many of the systemic therapies that have occurred in the last several years that have made surgical treatment more successful and a look forward into the next series of advances that are on the cusp of clinical implementation. We have gathered a very impressive list of internationally recognized experts in their fields to share the fruits of their clinical practice as well as insights into the future.
