Events are advertised via the Center in Beijng’s homepage and Upcoming Events site. Beijing Alumni Club members also post event invitations in the club’s LinkedIn group. Several email listhosts offer information about alumni events, including the Center’s alumni listhost and general events listhost, plus official Alumni Association mailing lists. Click here to learn more about how to connect with fellow alums in your area, or visit the Alumni Association’s international event listing to see if there are upcoming activities in your region.

The Booth Global Launchpad supports the ongoing education of entrepreneurial alumni worldwide through engaging four-day seminars taught by top Chicago Booth entrepreneurship faculty. The inaugural program took place at the Center in Beijing in July 2012.

The Center in Beijing hosts a Send-Off Party each summer for incoming students, their family members, and alumni. These events often feature a panel with Chinese alumni of various University divisions and provide a forum for new students to connect with alums and find out more about the road ahead at UChicago.

The University’s Office of Career Advancement continues to build bridges between alumni and current students in China, bringing top-notch undergraduate interns to alumni employers via the Jeff Metcalf internship program and leading career treks to Beijing and Hong Kong. Annual receptions each summer bring together alumni, interns, and summer students.

Other past events across China have included networking evenings and seasonal dinners; receptions featuring speeches by President Robert ZimmerDean John Boyer, Professor Allen Sanderson, and Institute for Molecular Engineering Director Matt Tirrell; a reception with Henry Paulson, former US Secretary of the Treasury and current UChicago affiliate; career panels for undergraduate Study Abroad students; site visits for Law School International Immersion Program students; a 2012 US Presidential Election results-watching reception; and 2011 and 2012 receptions for the Booth School’s international Women’s Week.
