The UChicago Alumni Club of Shanghai and the UChicago Alumni Association hosted Matthew Tirrell, founding Pritzker director of the Institute for Molecular Engineering (IME), in order that he could share the vision for and progress in launching the University of Chicago’s first engineering program. At the intersection of biomedical engineering, nanotechnology, and materials science, molecular engineers are making discoveries that offer opportunities to advance science, address pressing problems in energy, healthcare, information technology, and sustainability and drive economic growth.
