On March 21-22, 2018, "Transplant Ethics: Looking Forward" workshop was successfully held at the University of Chicago Center in Beijing. More than 50 audiences including doctors, professors, students and researchers attended this conference, they had heated discussions with speakers. This conference was co-organized by Center for Bioethics of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Peking Union Medical College, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, University of Chicago MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics, University of Chicago Bucksbaum Institute for Clinical Excellence, University of Chicago Transplant Center and University of Chicago Center in Beijing. It is the third in a sequence of workshops held here every spring. The workshop assembled the world’s experts in organ transplantation and medical ethics fields, move past the ethical issues of the past that tainted transplantation in China and start addressing the issues that still challenge ethical principles in China and the US. By using a combination of didactic, case based discussion and roundtable discussions to encourage audience participation and active learning. Both the organizers and the audience achieved a lot, as the participation was very lively.
