The University of Chicago unveiled plans to open a Center in Delhi in an event that was webcast live to the UChicago community around the world. The Center in Beijing showed the webcast in the Event Space with snacks provided.
The webcast began at 3 p.m. India Standard Time on Monday or 4:30 a.m. Central Daylight Time that same day in Chicago. It provided a chance for the international UChicago community to hear directly from President Robert J. Zimmer and other University officials and scholars. University leaders discussed the future of UChicago’s global engagement at the event.
Gary Tubb, Professor in the Department of South Asian Language and Civilizations, Ian Solomon, Vice President for Global Engagement, and John Schneider, Assistant Professor of Medicine and Director, Global Health Programs were joined by Romila Thapar, Professor Emirita, Jawaharlal Nehru University, at the event.
