As part of ongoing efforts to deepen UChicago’s international engagement, a UChicago Global delegation led by Associate Vice President Katie Hrinyak and Beijing Center Faculty Director Dr. Michael Millis visited the U.S. Embassy in China this month. The group was joined by 15 UChicago medical students currently completing clinical rotations at Peking Union Medical College Hospital, as well as UChicago Medicine faculty participating in a medical conference in Beijing.
The delegation met with representatives from the Embassy’s health and education sections to share updates on the University’s work in China and discuss UChicago’s distinctive approach to academic exchange in the region. The conversation also explored opportunities for future collaboration with U.S. government partners amid a complex and evolving geopolitical landscape.
This visit underscores UChicago’s continued commitment to fostering global academic partnerships and supporting meaningful student and faculty engagement in China.
