University of Chicago Alumni Club of Beijing Spring Forum 2026 Successfully Held

On April 12, the University of Chicago Alumni Club of Beijing hosted its Spring Forum at Raycom Infotech Park, Haidian District. Under the theme “Flame Never Fades, Path Never Strays,” the event gathered scholars, industry leaders, and alumni for a cross-disciplinary exchange on artificial intelligence, technological innovation, healthcare, and cultural industries.

Dr. Ge Zening, Executive Director of the University of Chicago Center in Beijing, opened the forum by highlighting the Center’s role in bridging Chinese and American academia. He noted that while institutional ties expand, meaningful progress depends primarily on sustained people-to-people exchange. The ensuing sessions linked technical innovation with its broader social impact, specifically addressing the balance between data utility and privacy in AI, and how emerging technologies are transforming global investment strategies. Beyond tech, participants explored the role of cultural production in international connectivity and the evolving dynamics of Sino–U.S. relations. The discussions emphasized the necessity of integrating scientific inquiry with the humanities, while a dedicated roundtable on longevity science examined holistic, life-cycle approaches to modern healthcare.

The forum concluded with an evening reception, where conversation continued in a more informal setting. Taken together, the event reflected the intellectual rigor and openness that define the University of Chicago community, as well as the enduring value of dialogue across disciplines and borders.
