The First Chinese Annual Women and Children’s Radiology Congress and the Sixth Shanghai Pediatric Imaging Summit took place on April 25-28th, 2019 in Shanghai, China. This meeting was attended by over 300 radiologists, with representation from three international countries. Dr. Dengbin Wang and his colleagues were the gracious hosts and organizers for this event. Dr. Deepa Sheth, a breast radiologist, and Dr. Gini Fleming, a medical oncologist, were invited from University of Chicago Medicine to attend and participate in the meeting.

Dr. Deepa Sheth co-hosted and presented two topics titled “Breast cancer subtypes with molecular and imaging features” and “Risk stratification of DCIS.” In addition, Dr. Sheth was able to moderate and judge at an oral abstract competition for radiology residents, whereby $2,000 in cash prizes were awarded to the top presentations. Dr. Gini Fleming presented two topics titled “Adjuvant endocrine therapy in premenopausal women with HR+ disease” and “Therapy for metastatic ER+ breast cancer.”

Funds for this meeting were generously provided by an educational grant from the UChicago Beijing Center. This four day meeting was an excellent partnership between international physicians, paving the path for future collaborations and initiatives, particularly as it relates to risk-based stratified breast screening for women.

Dr. Deepa Sheth and Dr. Gini Fleming from the Department of Radiology, University of Chicago, spoke at the Congress.
