About the Conference: China attaches great importance to the standardization of residency training. In 2013, seven ministries under China’s State Council jointly issued a report entitled Guideline on Establishing a Standardized Residency Training System in the hope of regulating the implementation and management of residency training.
Peking Union Medical College Hospital set up a standardized residency training system when it was founded in 1921. By implementing systems such as a 24-hour Onsite Resident system, “The Three Basics and the Three Stricts” (the “Three Basics” are basic knowledge, basic theory, and basic skills; the “Three Stricts” are strict management, strict work style, and strict measures), and a Chief Resident designation, PUMCH has accumulated a wide range of experience and achievements in its residency programs. In recent years, PUMCH has also been actively exploring leading-edge methods of mechanization and capacity building and thus has accumulated a wealth of experience in these areas.
This symposium is jointly initiated by Peking Union Medical College Hospital, University of Chicago Medicine and the University of Chicago Center in Beijing. During the symposium, experts from both the U.S. and China will share their experiences and discuss issues related to the educational systems of standardized residency training, teacher training, chief resident systems, resident bedside teaching, sub-specialty construction, and base camp construction. The conference contents are closely linked with real-life practice, emphasizing related theory and recent developments.
国家高度重视住院医师规范化培训，2013年国务院七部委联合发布《关于建立住院医师规范化培训制度的指导意见》来规范住院医师培训的实施与管理。
北京协和医院从1921年建院初始就建立了规范的住院医师制度，提出24小时住院医师制度、“三基三严”、总住院医师制度等，取得了很多的经验和成绩。近年来北京协和医院也在积极探索新时期下住院医师培养的机制建设、能力建设，积累了丰富的经验。
本次研讨会是由北京协和医院，芝加哥大学医学院和芝加哥大学北京中心共同发起的国际性研讨会，会上中美双方专家将围绕住院医师规范化培训教育体系建设、师资培训、总住院医师制度、住院医师床旁教学、专科建设、基地建设等热点问题进行经验分享，并进行研讨。会议内容与实践密切结合、重视相关理论和当前进展。
