Alumni

The Center in Beijing is a hub for University of Chicago alumni who live in Beijing, other areas of China, and wider East Asia, and is also open to alumni visitors from around the world. We host alumni-focused or exclusive events, such as receptions, workshops, and Summer Send-offs for admitted students, and also act as a local nerve center for alumni activities at other Beijing venues, such as international lecture series or visits from University luminaries. Please visit our upcoming events page to find out more about both alumni-focused and public events in Beijing.

If you are an alum and would like to get involved with the UChicago community in Beijing or in your city in Asia, please do not hesitate to explore the information below or contact us. Whether you hope to network with classmates, volunteer to interview undergraduate applicants, or attend lecture events featuring favorite professors visiting from Hyde Park, we hope that we can assist you. There are Beijing chapters of both the University of Chicago Alumni Club and the Booth School Alumni Club.

If you are employed at or leading a company or organization in Asia which is seeking interns, you can find out more about recruiting UChicago students via the Office of Career Advancement’s online recruiting system.

The University, the Alumni Association, and the Graham School of Continuing Education collaborate to offer a diverse range of alumni-exclusive international tours with an academic basis. Several past alumni tour groups have visited China; upcoming programs are listed on the Alumni and Friends Study Trips webpage.

Become an Alumni Volunteer

Alumni can also give back to the University by getting involved in a local alumni club, organizing social events, speaking with our Study Abroad students at a Beijing alumni career panel event, or attending a Summer Send-Off for admitted students.

Please contact your local alumni club leader to find out about upcoming events and Alumni Association volunteer opportunities. The Alumni and Friends website also offers information about how you can help the University through mentoring, event leadership, internship assistance, and reunion planning.

Host a UChicago Intern

Could your company or organization sponsor an intern? University alumni interested in offering internships to UChicago undergrads should register with Career Advancement as an employer. The Career Advancement Office has numerous volunteering opportunities, such as mentoring students, opening your China office up to a visit from current students, and giving career advice.
